Search Within A Specific Web Site

Google. We all use it, and most of us love it - it provides excellent results and we retrieve information so quickly! 

However, many people don't realize the full capabilities of Google, and the tricks to utilize Google as an academic search engine.  This guide is intended to help filter your search results and discover more reliable sources online. 

The First trick is to search for specific web sites and category sites. For example, if you want information on immigration the news media outlet Politico, search for immigration site:politico.com.  

 

​You can also limit your search to a specific category of sites, such as site:.gov or site:.edu.
