ENG 101

Research Essay 3: Explaining a Food Production Technique

Due: Friday, Mar. 1, 2018

This assignment corresponds to your textbook; see page 195 for more information.

Task: Write an essay (minimum 6 pages) in which you explain a food production technique that interests you; explain the technique to an audience that is unfamiliar with it. As you consider a topic, think broadly about both industrial and traditional food production practices. You may select an antiquated farming technique that is no longer practical or a nascent industrial technology. Whatever you decide, your goal is to help your readers understand your topic as well as you do after you have conducted your research. Use the  MLA style for citation of external sources.

Keep in mind that you’re not writing an essay that expresses your opinion or position on the practice. Your focus should be presenting a clear and accurate explanation of the process you have chosen.

Recommended: 3-4 minimum of sources

Purpose: To further develop research and writing skills through writing about food production techniques.

Evaluation: Evaluation will be based on the course rubric; see Blackboard.
