Today is our Library Lesson. This lesson is designed to help prepare you
for your research papers in Eng 102. It is important that you use the
Harold L. Drimmer Library Database for your research.
Here is a rough outline of your research essays:
1) You will choose a story or poem (or several poems by the same poet) and read a critical article about that work. You will then compare/contrast that article with your own view. Due Nov. 3rd Click the Find Literary Criticism Tab to find an article that analyzes your chosen work.
2) You will read a review of one of the plays (or film of the play) that we study. You will briefly discuss that review. You will then write a review of your own. Due Nov. 24th. Click the Find Articles/Reviews Tab to find a review of a play
3) Your final paper: For your final essay you will choose an author or major story/play/ or poem and place it in biographical and historical context. Included in this paper will be your own personal reasons for your choice. Due Dec. 15th. Click the tab Find background information to get started and then use the databases listed in find articles tab to get articles that provide greater detail
Note: You will be given detailed outlines and hand-outs for these essays
as the term progresses.
Note: Your first essay is NOT a research essay. It is a compare/contrast short story essay. Due Oct. 20th
