MLA (Modern Language Association) citations for online images include the following elements:

  • Image artist (Last name, first name)
  • Image title
  • Image date
  • Image location
  • Medium
  • Website and/or Database name
  • Date of access, if online

MLA (Modern Language Association) citations for print images include the following elements:

  • Image artist (Last name, first name)
  • Image title
  • Image date
  • Image location
  • Book tiltle
  • Book author (Last name, first name)
  • Place of publication
  • Publisher
  • Year of publication
  • Page
  • Medium

  • Label (Fig. [Figure] and title above image). (Number Figures consecutively.)
  • The word Source:followed by bibliographic citation below image. (Repeat citation in Works Cited.)
