Evaluating Websites

What to Look For

It is easy to find thousands, if not millions, of websites geared to your topic.

The challenge is to find RELEVANT, CREDIBLE websites.

  • The trick is to know who is responsible for the content information on the site.
  • If you cannot find a name or agency responsible, don't use the site.
  • Check for dates.  Some pages are put up and never revised.  In the health / medical, science or technology areas you need to know the most up-to-date information.
  • Check for dates.  Some pages may be quite new and go away very quickly.  Make a copy of the first page of your website.
